I purchased PD Space Guitar in order to lay down bass tracks in Loopy Pro running on an iPad. The app runs absolutely fine on my older iPad (8th Generation running iPadOS 17.7.1) I really like patch 109: "Bass 6".
However, I'm using a lot of effects and my older iPad was sometimes struggling to handle the processor load. So I just bought a brand new iPad (iPad Pro 13-inch M4 - bought new Feb 2025) which runs Loopy Pro with much more processor headroom.
Unfortunately PD Space Guitar does not run properly on the new iPad. Everything seems to function OK (the test tone works, different patches load different sounds) - but the audio output is unusable. The output has no bass, the sounds are all "fuzzy" and often contain a large amount of what sounds like 50 Hz mains hum superimposed on the inout signal. This is true both in standalone mode and when used as an audio effect within Loopy Pro.
This is a major issue for me since it makes my purchase unusable. Please advise. I am happy to provide any further details that may help you resolve the issue. Cheers, Alec
Hi Alec,
Thanks for your feedback!
The first thing to check is, that after trying the standalone you really end SG (Space Guitar), just to make sure you are not running Loopy and SG standalone simultaneously.
SG2.0 standalone is not compatible with iOS 18, but the AUv3 should work
SG2.0 supports 44.1 and 48 khz samplerates. Other samplerates are not supported.
Please check and tell what the audio setting in Loopy Pro are.
The current SG beta supports 44,48,88,96khz samplerates and iOS 18.0.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I didn't realise that the standalone version is not compatible with iOS 18. When testing it out on my new iPad Pro I was trying to use the standalone version - hence the issues.
It works fine using the AUv3 version within Loopy Pro - which is what I needed.
Many thanks for your help,
